Phil 11.7.12

7:30 – 3:30 ESSO

  • Backups
  • Meeting with Ray(?) to go over how to use Project Assistant. Some issues, particularly when there is no allocated budget. We really need to essentially replicate the FRP until the funds are allocated.
  • Need to write up my status report for Jim G. Done
  • Still looking for the freeze problem. Can’t replicate today regardless of what machine or what browser I try it on.
  • Finished testing of using Google Drive as an ‘interim backup’. Works well enough that I’m now trying it with a copy of my actual workspace
  • Burned disk of PPM and PA, along with status report.

Phil 11.5.12 – 11.6.12

11.5.12: 7:30 – 9:30, 1:00 – 4:00 ESSO

  • Backups
  • Deployed release versions of everything.
  • Meeting with Morpheus folks. Demoed everything, and they are interested. Had an odd experience, where the chart view in the data visualizer froze. Upon reloading, everything was fine.

11.5.12 10:00 – 1:00 FP

  • 810, then video production presentation

11.6.12: 730 – 2:00 ESSO

  • Backups
  • Wrote up meeting notes for Dave W.
  • Jim G. wants status for October
  • Set up a bunch of users for Data Visualization. When showing one how things work, I ran into the freezing problem again. I reset the deployed code to be the debug build, and can’t get it to happen on my box, but it happens on his. I need to test further. Not even sure how to debug this one yet.
  • Experimenting with using Google Drive to hold my Eclipse development directory. If it works, then there is always a snapshot of the current codebase. THis doesn’t replace SVN, which hold the ‘working’ codebase. Instead, this is the version that each user is working on, before it’s shared.

2:00 – 4:00 FP

  • 805, and a bit of coding to determine Levenshtein distance for strings.

Phil 11.2.12

8:00 – 11:00,  12:00 – 4:00 ESSO

  • Deployed yet another version of vis2. I think it’s free of any ‘stupid’ errors, at any rate.
  • Monday 2:00 Morpheus meeting
  • Wednesday 9:30 VisTool walkthrough
  • Announded the URN victory
  • Compiled and burned release builds of other VISIBILITY apps.

11:00 – 12:00 FP

  • Meeting with Bill Shewbridge. Looks like studio time on Nov 20 or Dec 4. Preference for Nov 30.

Phil 10.2.12

8:00 – 2:00 ESSO

  • Back from vacation! Pix are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21701734@N04/sets/72157631554682788/
  • Deployed Dong’s new PA, and made a new DB. Need to add that to the bcakups, but no rush. Right now it just has test data in it.
  • Backups
  • General client coordination. No fires. Yay!
  • Installing updates to every Adobe product, so no Flashbuilder for a while
  • Going to start on GWT Alert app
  • Yay! Updates are done
  • Not quite. Needed to update Java and change the environment variables too.
  • Ok, *now* I’m back to GWT. Reviewing up to Chapter 2.

2:00 – 4:00 FP

  • Qualitative methods.

Phil 9.11.12

8:30 – 2:30 ESSO

  • Deployed new PPM
  • Backups
  • Fixed the problem with VSS’s testServlet. It was the lack of needed jars
  • Some back and forth with Denise P. We might have our production Server?
  • Jessica will probably come over tomorrow afternoon for alert discussions
  • Working on GWT.

2:30 – 4:30 FP

  • Qualitative methods

Phil 9.6.12

8:30 – 2:30 ESSO

  • Backups
  • Found out the bug with the VSS facade. Some jar files were missing. Not tested yet, but I’ll try tomorrow morning
  • Looks like Alerts are next on the agenda of new code development. I’d like to do this in GWT, but we need to see if that will run on our servers
  • Working on GWT, with an eye towards making the Alert Manager
    • Creates scripts using drag and drop that are then run by the Scripting Engine
    • Created alerts are visible in PPM and PA
    • Hooks for email support. We can at least show that running off of fgmdev, and maybe the PROD machines will let us do that?

2:30 – 4:30 FP

Phil 9.4.12

8:30 – 2:30 ESSO

  • Backups and discussion of status with Jessica R.
  • Rediscovered how to connect to sourceforge to work with the update site, web pages, etc. This page in particular was really useful.
  • This screenshot might help too:
  • Ok, back to GWT…
  • Gah! Installing the web page editor took forever…
  • Server came up, but I didn’t get the “has been loaded” message in the IDE. Going to try the Firefox plugin tomorrow.

2:30 – 4:30 FP

Phil 8.30.12

8:30 – 2:30 ESSO

  • Built and burned new PPM with fixes and scripts
  • 10:30 Meeting
  • Finish up MavenAssist today? Should just be a matter of seeing why the standalone and the plugin don’t work quite the same way…

2:30 – 4:30 FP

  • Qualitative methods, and started thinking about the iRevolution App as my thesis.

Phil 8.21.12

8:30 – 2:30 ESSO

  • Rolled out the new DB change that allows single and multiple users (PMs, Admins, etc) to be listed in a single table, and thereby create better charts. It was exciting, and we seem to have broken the MySQL instance a little, but everything is working.
  • Sent Tom D. a copy of the UIST white paper for Novetta to mull over.
  • Created a disk of my workspace with the most recent versions of all the code and Maven. I need a DVD for the repo, so that will wait until tomorrow.
  • Starting on GWT In Action again.

2:30 – 4:30 FP

  • PAD meeting.

Phil 8.17.12

8:00 – 2:30 ESSO

2:30 – 4:00 FP

  • 3:15 Meeting with Dr. Kuber to discuss research opportunities for the interface device

Phil 8.15.12

8:00 – 4:00 ESSO

  • Added FMPs to the CurrentStatus.py script
  • Backups
  • Uploaded but did not install the most recent versions of software onto the shared disk. Test on Integration, then deploy to Test
  • Updated the FY reports now that the PM Actuals are in
  • Added some slides to Col. Dukes’ presentation

3:00 – 4:00 FP

  • Made some changes to KFVirtualHand to make things a bit more intuitive.

Phil 8.7.12

8:00 – 2:00 ESSO

  • Made backups
  • Looks like the test plan is good enough for Vern. Jessica is sending it off to Denise
  • New data uploads on Friday. We’ll see how the reports look
  • Finished with scroll bars in SeriesConfigBase.
  • Wrote up monthly status report

2:00 – 6:00 FP

  • Bringing the prototype to PAD meeting
  • Demo went well – Shawn thinks that the “sensorator(?)” “haptor(?)” (sensor/actuator) might be the best thing to build the paper out of. The trick would be to show a bunch of uses and focus more on the driver(s).

Phil 7.31.12

8:30 – 2:00 ESSO

  • Backups
  • Discussions with Jessica about integrating some more COGNOS data and correlating it with the financial remediation reports in PPM
  • Made some more scripts to look into how much usage the system is getting by user by month

2:00 – 5:00 FP

  • PAD Meeting
  • Need to get USB hub to finish mouse
  • Got mouse base attached
  • Got all speakers running
  • switched leads on sensors.
  • Ran tests – success! Even updated the software

Phil 7.23.12

8:00 – 4:00 ESSO

  • Backups on site. No fires to deal with.
  • Started to put XP on the Sony laptop. No luck – XP couldn’t recognize the drives. And, the serial number for the CD was *only* in the email that Microsoft sent me, which was at home.  So I went home, got my car from the shop, and brought back one of my old desk side units. Dong is in the process of installing XP on it, since he has all the spare monitors on his desk.
  • Copying my Eclipse workspace over so that I can change compilers without having to worry about unforeseen consequences.
  • Compiling everything with 3.5B results in runtime errors with AdvancedDataGrid, and you can’t compile FlexiChart with anything less than 3.6. Trying to compile just EdgeUtils and Management Utils with 3.5B. Vis2 is compiled with 3.6, while I’m compiling AccountManager with 3.5B. Will test on site tomorrow to see how that works.
