Phil 9.16.2010

7:30 – 12:30 VISIBILITY

  • Things are running smoothly on site
  • Nobody is poking around in the Data Navigator right now, which makes me worried about the level of seriousness by the SLA folks
  • Trish and Chris didn’t enter any new user data
  • Talked to dong about the state of the current PPM system, and showed him a few screenshots from onsite.

12:30- 3:30 FP

  • Working on SigChi Paper. Need to finish the description and discussion sections.

Dong Shin 09.15.2010

    • removed user description
    • login id built from the first name and last name
    • made Save User button bigger
    • change TRP Member label to NSA PM Name and show Portfolio Mgr
    • added FT Name and FT Number to Financial Data tab labels
    • made Budget Centers on Create/Modify Project Panel sortable
    • Non-admin users can only edit own information

Phil 9.15.2010

7:30 – 2:00 VISIBILITY

  • Meeting with Trish and Chris. Rolled out the “release version. This led to several changes being requested. Dong is working on rolling in changes so I can deploy Friday am.
    • Remove description from user registration
    • login should be firstname.lastname. Add a tooltip
    • Users should be able to edit their own user data
    • Make “Save User” button bigger. Says Save Us…
    • If the budget for a year is zero, don’t show or calculate panels
    • TRP Member in financial Data should read “NSA PM Name” and show NSA portfolio Manager
    • Total budget needs to be total budget by year (use a grid rather than a single field)
    • Financial tabs need FT Name and FT Number added to “Year XX” label
    • Make project rows sortable

2:00 – 3:30 FP

Dong Shin 09.14.2010

  • working at home
  • created beta.png to use for the background of ProjPortfolioMgrBeta.swc
  • packaged ProjPortfolioMgr.war
    • fresh database with minimal set of data – project_portfolio_complete.sql
    • only user pgfeldman as Admin
    • ProjPortfolioMgr.swc for users and ProjPortfolioMgrBeta for testing and debugging
  • packaged ProjPortfolioMgrAlpha.war
    • use project_portfolio_dev database
    • load testing data – project_portfolio_complete_test_data.sql
    • changed the configuration to use new database
  • Uploaded files to viz-n.com

Mike 9.13.2010

  • Combined all the flex classes which make up the scripting text area: PrettyPrintTextArea extends CodingTextArea extends AutoCompleteTextArea
  • added a language selector to the scripting editor screen, currently only python with my test language turned off
  • Worked through bugs and oddities which appeared from combining all the text functionality (example, the auto indent spaces were still appearing after an auto complete insert even though a newline wasn’t started)
  • The autocomplete stuff is incorporated, checked in, and turned on, not the most robust but it does work for the basic cases and reports errors when it gets confused (as opposed to the crash and burn method)

Dong Shin 09.13.2010

  • replaced slow and blocking Wifi with hardwires
  • working on DataGridEditor to replace all the editors with comma separated $ values – done. need to integrate it
  • preparing for deployment
    • added debug flag in PPM
    • created debug.png image to show on the debug version

Phil 9.13.2010

8:00 – 10:00 VISIBILITY

  • Slow on site. Talked to John Williams. He likes the idea that we’re getting a cloud based Sharepoint Server. Also, the whole SiteWorks deal is that if there is a web developer component to a team, then SiteWorks can’t take any work away from that developer.

10:00 – 11:30

  • Ran cables top hard-wire our computers in because the wifi was too awful to use.

11:30 – 2:00 VISIBILITY

  • Flex in a week
  • Walked through project setup for PPM going forward with Dong
    • The release version only has pgfeldm as a user (Admin privileges). Database is clean except for budget info (FY10 O&M, procurement, etc)
    • Default build is ProjportfolioMgrBeta.swf
    • Background image says “BETA”
    • Manual copy of the swf to ProjPortfolioMgr.swf when all tests are passed
    • There is a separate build for anything that changes the database. SWC has a background of “ALPHA”, and the java talks to a different database (project_portfolio_dev). This gets built and deployed to a different war file than the current release version so that testing can occur without harming the release version

2:00 – 5:00

  • Approved changes on provisional patent
  • Started on SIGCHI 2011 paper.

Phil 9.10.2010

  • Spent a good deal of time working through scenarios with Keil about what and how to build things for the customer(s)
  • Worked on Flex in a week
  • Assembled a table for the FP

Phil 9.8.2010

    • Double-click to bring up invoice
    • Edit invoice info from list
  • Sharepoint hosting? (http://myhosting.com/business-vps/sharepoint-services.aspx)
  • Had a thought about how to do code completion in the scripting system the same way that google scribe (http://scribe.googlelabs.com/) does it – basically take what other developers have done and suggest that.
  • Talked to Anne about moving SLA forward.
    • Wants a meeting with Brian, Anne, and I about setting up a SOW framework.

4:00 – 6:00 – move

  • Cleaned and assembled

Keil 9/8/2010

  • Researching converting PHP code for forecast into .NET for easy integration into Sharepoint.
  • Investigated doing the forecast entirely in Sharepoint, but Sharepoint is definitely not the best tool for that job.

Dong Shin 09.08.2010
