- Tasked with following (also see list under Phil’s post):

8:00 – 3:30 VISIBILITY
- Talked to Christie. She’s going to try out the new version and also show Trish. They’ll either call to discuss or I’ll pick up tomorrow
- Chris’ first day. Her task list is:
- Flex in a week
- Mavenize AirFileImageApp, and fix MavenAssist to create Air apps
- Start converting VISIBILITY to Flash4 (4.5?)
- Working on AirFileImageApp
- Trying to add a [Bindable] value that a skin can access. Done – had to extend the SkinnableContainer class with a small actionscript class. Interestingly, it makes <layout> part of the package where the inheriting class is instead of spark.components. . I’m guessing that it’s because layout is a variable?
- ItemRenderer – mostly done – working with padding.
- Leaving at 3:30
5:30 – 6:30 FP
- Cut some polycarbonate cards for PC mounting
Tom DeVito 11.12.2010
- Mounted the 5 motor controllers to their shelves.
- Made a power bus using usb but we can always change it to use output on the controller if we need the USB slot.
- Picked up some connectors for the wires coming in and out of the control box.
Phil 11.10.2010
8:00 – 3:30VISIBILITY
- All is well on site
- Reviewing Dong’s new PPM
- Working on the Air App
- Fleshing out DataDictionary class. Adding callbacks, comments, etc
- Finished with the DataDictionary. I can’t get the Changewatcher to work with the property change event, though I can fire it if the object itself changes. So instead I added a more java-like callback with listeners functionality.
Tom DeVito 11.9.10
- http://www.grymoire.com/Unix/Sh.html Tutorial for Bourne Shell scripting
- Started porting my installer to java so it will work on linux.
- How to zip a directory recursively in java. http://www.java2s.com/Code/Java/File-Input-Output/Makingazipfileofdirectoryincludingitssubdirectoriesrecursively.htm
- How to make a self extracting executable for Linux. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/955460/how-do-linux-binary-installers-bin-sh-work
Tom 11.2.10
- Images on website restored. Tested script runner to restore from back-up.
- Changed script runner to use post instead of get
- Wrote a guide for the installer
- Started a sandbox for communicating with database
Phil 11.1.2010
7:30 – 5:30 VISIBILITY
- Working on putting together a reference AIR App
- Login Screen
- Read/write to a local file (xml)
- Pull images from local and remote sources
- Remote object interaction?
- Charting
- Config file, with autologin (anything else?)
- Skins
- packaged assets?
- Air application is not being properly created with maven.
- Need to change the <dependency><groupId>com.adobe.flex.framework</groupId><artifactId>flex-framework</artifactId></dependency> to <dependency><groupId>com.adobe.flex.framework</groupId><artifactId>air-framework</artifactId></dependency>
- Have to update MvnAssist a bit. Also, flexmojos standin is still being called.
- Going to work the initial version in Flashbuilder
- Some trouble creating an Air app that would work in design vew. No reason, it seems. Deleting and doing the same thing worked (After closing and restarting Eclipse)
- Got states working
- Navigating the file system
- opening files and reading XML
Phil 10.27.2010
7:30 – 2:00 VISIBILITY
- Fixed the table that was misbehaving for Anne. It turns out that you can’t have a ‘/’ in a column header and still expect Google SQL to handle it. Need to add that to the substitutions in the ingestors
- Working out a fancier password system. Done. To test, I’ve put Tom’s Dong’s and my accounts into the system. If it’s working tomorrow, we’ll transfer more of the accounts over
2:00 – 3:00 FP
- Demo for Mike F. and Scott G.
Dong Shin 10.22.2010
- revamped layout of Visibility Blog
- configure httpd to use Tomcat
- http://girishgaurav.wordpress.com/2010/07/09/configuring-multiple-tomcat-application-servers-with-apache-http-server/

- find AJP connector from server.xml
- create Tomcat worker configuration
- configure JK module
- works on Mac!! with XAMPP
- https enabled
- more MvnAssist
- added Test Case Class for UserCommands- UserCommandsTestCase
Keil 10/22/2010
Last day at FGM. It has been a pleasure working with the talented individuals on this team. Keep in touch, guys!
- Putting the finishing touches on the FGM ASD site. The code is fairly open-ended, so it can be modded to work with pretty much any site you want. The link is: http://www.fgmdev.com/
Keil Ruby 10/11/2010
- Has Flex interfacing with BlazeDS and Java to a MySQL database. Communications are working properly, but can’t figure out why quotes keep appearing in my output when I use BlazeDS. The quotes don’t appear under other circumstances.
Phil 10.8.2010
7:30 – 11:30 VISIBILITY
- Had a meeting with LTC Matt H. about VISIBILITY. He really likes it and would like to extend it to include other data sources. I pinged Anne about this and we’ll get together next week to discuss.
- The “go” designation for VISIBILITY got rejected. I fixed everything that I think that there was to fix and asked for guidance
11:30 – 6:00 FP
- Drilled holes for all the strain channels.
- Came to a halt over the finger attachment. The channels overlap too much of the Delrin to let a finger in, even with the channel cut down. After pondering a bit, I think I’ll try cutting grooves in the sire of the delrin and running the delrin block between two pieces of rod. I’ve got some aluminum that should work for this, so I don’t need to buy anything new.
